Lorry attendant charged with cheating bank officer

PETALING JAYA: A lorry attendant pleaded not guilty at the magistrate's court here today to cheating a bank officer, 10 years ago.
Khairul Nizam Khirudin, 37, was charged with cheating Hamidah Mohd Noor, 57, by pawning two imitation gold chains as genuine, causing the officer to hand over RM4,450 to him at a counter of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, here at 4.02pm on Jan 8, 2007.
The father for four was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code and is liable to be jailed up to 10 years and fined and whipped, if convicted.
Magistrate Nurulhuda Zakariya granted bail at RM3,000 in one surety and set Jan 8 for re-mention. — Bernama
