Videos show massive fire on Connecticut highway after petrolium tank crash

A tanker truck full of gasoline slammed into a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Connecticut, causing a huge explosion and completely melting the overpass above.

Update:

Early morning Thursday, a tanker truck filled with gasoline crashed into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Connecticut, erupting in flames so big they took three hours to get under control. The overpass above was completely melted by the fire and will be demolished. The portion of the highway which was affected by the accident will remain shut down until at least Monday.

The tanker was carrying 8,500 gallons of gas and hit the truck as well as another vehicle near the Farfield overpass. Governor Ned Lamont reported that no one was seriously hurt. He urged drivers to avoid the area, with traffic already backed up for miles after the accident.

Environmental crews in hazmat suits came to clean up the gasoline and debris and foam from the firefighters. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said they were able to contain the gas and foam from leaking into the Norwalk River.
