It’s claimed that Berardi is a popular player in the Leeds dressing room, and the club’s hierarchy are open to offering him the chance to stay at the club, but will let Berardi decide whether he wants to stay or not.
The report notes Berardi may well decide to leave the club when his contract ends, in order to become a free agent and pursue first-team football elsewhere.
Berardi, 31, has made nearly 150 appearances for Leeds since arriving from Sampdoria in 2014, but has made only two Championship starts so far this season.
The Swiss defender may well wait and see how his playing time is impacted over the coming months before committing to a new deal, meaning this is a situation for Leeds fans to keep an eye on.
