TC announces intensification of public accounts supervision
Luanda, ANGOLA, October 21 - The Audit Court (TC) will implement, from 2020, a new procedure called "Concurrent Surveillance", which aims to monitor the execution of acts and contracts, before their conclusion, through investigations and operational audits.,
The announcement was made this Monday in Luanda by the chairperson of that higher court, Exalgina Gamboa, during a Methodological Meeting of Cadres, which brings together national and foreign experts, running until 25th October.
The official stated that the procedure (supervision) fits in with the amendment of the Organic Law of the Court of Auditors, which introduces structural changes and new competences.
According to the judge, this is a step towards the improvement of the system of control of public finances, and is a preventive guarantee against corruption crimes.
She explained that these challenges are intrinsically linked to the strategic objective of restoring the TC's integrated process management and digitization system.
During the meeting, she said that the digital age is not in line with the manual system and the existing bureaucracy in the TC, hence the need for a paradigm shift.
