Talking during the 5th African Conference of Ministers Responsible for Birth Registration and Vital Statistics, in Lusaka (Zambia) and the Angolan minister affirmed that is aware of the hard work, but assured that the justice sector is ready.
He highlighted that for the first phase, the programme will be set up in three provinces to be selected, afterwards it shall be extended to the whole country in the same way that the sector and partners should ensure human resources and needed materials.

The official appealed to African countries not to repeat the Angolan experience over the past decade, which spent about 2 billion dollars with computer services and solutions contracts, in an environment dominated by lack of rigour and transparency.
According to Francisco Queiroz, just like most of the African States, in Angola the situation regarding to birth registration and vital statistics represents a permanent challenge.
The Conference conclusions, which ended on the 18th of this month, calls on the African Union and its partners to create strategies to adopt proper digital solutions for data storage.
The next conference of the ministers responsible for birth registration and vital statistics will be held in 2021, in Mozambique.
